A has mastered the fine art of blowing bubbles by herself. This is a major development!

We are having so much fun with dress up day at camp. The first week was a jungle theme. A went as a lion… of course!
It was hard to keep her costume on with all the art and jumping.
We started taking classes here when A was 3 months old. I signed up because I wanted to make some mom friends and needed to get out of my apartment. I would look at the older kids with jealousy and wish that A was old enough to be dropped off. Now that A is old enough to be dropped off I wish she was a baby again who just wanted to be cuddled. The grass is always greener!
But I have to say the toddler years are pretty awesome. I love dressing A up because she likes to get into character. When she put this hat on she was a lion who roared and pounced on her prey… it was so cute!

A started camp last week. It’s drop off optional. I assumed that she would struggle with separation and want me there for at least the first week. I was wrong. She walked in saw all the fun things they had to offer, pointed at the door, and screamed, “Mommy GOOOOOOOO.”
I left and then cried in the lobby. I told her camp counselor I would stay there in case I was needed but shockingly three hours went by and I was not needed.
I am really proud of her and REALLY I AM. It’s just when I look at her all I can see is the tiny bean that did somersaults during my 12 week sonogram. Then I crack up because tiny gymnast beans are too young for camp with out their moms. So I peak my head into the the camp snack room to check on my bean but I don’t see her. I see a person that has curly hair like my bean and she’s making friends and eating graham crackers by herself and then my hearts skips a couple of beats. How is this even possible?
But then I realize it is possible and when I stop crying about my baby not crying I am really proud of her. Good job A!
In positive news camp is awesome. I work on my writing when she is at camp and she is in the shark group. She loves this because sharks love to swim and are ferocious just like her.
Every week they have a new theme and the kids get to dress up on the last day of the week. The first week she was a lion and this week she will be an astronaut!

I was really proud of how A behaved in LA. She dealt with the time change well and was a good sport about being off schedule. Part of me feels like this is because she was around baby Monroe the whole time and saw what it was like to be around a baby who cries. Or she was trying to act older than him. Whatever the reason she barely threw any temper tantrums while in California… but don’t worry… now that we are back in NYC she is back to her toddler ways.
I feel bad for posting these pictures of A crying but it shows her love of guitars….
The second we got to Uncle J’s house A ran to all his guitars. I was surprised that she remembered where they all were. When she found a guitar she liked she would drag it and scream, “JJJJJJJJJ Play”. He usually obliged. Then she would have a dance party. Everyone was happy.
But sometimes A would find a guitar that I didn’t allow her to drag on the floor because it was special or delicate.
I forgot my USB cord in NYC so I couldn’t upload any new pictures to my computer. I am getting another cord today so I will be able to post tomorrow. In the meantime, here are some adorable pictures cousin Julie took of A at her last ballet class of the semester!
