Shoes

Last Friday, on the way to school I noticed my daughter limping. I asked her if she wanted to stay home and she said no. I took her shoes and pants off and looked for bruises ect. and found nothing. Then I put her shoes back on and we went out the door and she limped again. Her teachers even checked her for boo boos and couldn’t figure out why she was limping.

I can’t believe her feet used to be this small!

Later in the day, the man who owns the shoe store near the comedy club asked to measure her feet. I laughed because he had measured her feet 2 weeks ago but guess what?

Amelia’s feet grew 1 whole shoe size in 2 weeks. We got her some new shoes and she magically stopped limping. I felt like such a bad mom for not picking up on this and sending her to school in tight shoes but I really never thought her feet could grow that fast. Usually, she is able to wear shoes for months.

She was upset about it for a bit because she loves her new Hello Kitty shoes. We decided to save them for when her baby cousin is older. Amelia picked out some adorable Princess Aurora Stride Rite shoes.

Now that there is finally warm weather in New York, the playgrounds will be turning on the sprinklers. I need to find a good pair of water shoes. Crocs don’t work for Amelia because they give her a rash for some reason. She also needs something that has support so she can run with them. Any ideas?

The rash could be caused by a latex allergy. They are extremely dangerous, so you may want to check with her doctor 🙂

If you haven’t already you should check out zappos.com. They have all kinds of water shoes and sandals for kids. Good luck.

Try Reef sandals, but I’m w/ Mel… It could be latex… Although I’m allergic to latex and I can wear Crocs and have no problems, crazy, huh???
    It’s mostly just adhesives….
But Reef’s usually have some support in them as do a few other high end sandals…
Check out places like Sports Authority and such where they sell the more athletic type as well…
And make sure to go online and sign up w/ them before you buy as well, lots of times there’s a coupon for 10-20% your 1st purchase!!! :0)
    Good Luck!!! :0)

No problem… I worked at Ron Jons for years and I know Reef’s were some of the best sellers… But SO many more have come on the market since then…
        Good Luck!
