Makeup

Amelia loves makeup.
Amelia has gotten really into makeup recently.

Amelia loves makeup.
I never thought I would let my three year old put on makeup but here I am laughing at pictures of her putting it on. She loves the transformation aspect of it and I think it makes her feel like a big girl. When i tell her she can’t play with makeup she just imagines makeup and uses other objects. Last night, she used corn to apply ketchup lipstick. It was cute but disgusting.

I never wanted my daughter to play with makeup because I thought it would teach her that she was less than awesome and make her grow up to be insecure. I’ve noticed it has the opposite effect. It makes her feel good to take the time to pamper herself even if the makeover is make believe.

So let’s file this under the growing list of things I said I would never let my daughter do that she now does on a daily basis…. this list is getting very long.

    LOVE IT!!!
I think it varies child to child as well…
Some things Ian does that I didn’t let Orion do… Like I didn’t let Orion walk in the stores until he was much older, Ian is doing it at 2, unless the store is incredibly busy, then I threaten him to behave and get in the buggy and sometimes bribe him with a car if he’s good.
You have to do what you have to do to get the grocery shopping done.
Hope all is going well at the Comedy Club!!! :0)

Thank You! I don;t take Amelia grocery shopping anymore…. I leave her with the husband because she’s so difficult and tries to take everything off the racks.

LOL…. Ian’s pretty good, but he wants to direct which way we go and he wants to go down EVERY aisle. If it’s Wal-Mart, that can take FOREVER and I have to draw the line… LOL… And I tell him in the beginning, CARS ARE LAST, only if he’s good.
If we go to Publix, which is a grocery store, we have to start at the bakery for the FREE cookie, then I tell him where I need to go and he takes me. He’s usually really good, until we get to the gummy snacks, LOL.
I have no choice most of the time, b/c I go shopping during the week while dad’s at work, since I unfortunately only work 9-12 hours a week… I have LOTS a free time and use it as a teaching opportunity, or try to when he’ll cooperate… LOL

Most of my grocery stores don’t have carts that kids can sit in so Amelia ends up knocking stuff off shelves. I wish i could take her with me though.

Oh if he’d sit in a cart… LOL
