Going to Disney World with my daughter was such an emotional experience for me. The last time I went, I was pregnant and hoping for a girl. I found out about a salon in Cinderella’s castle where little girls get a princess makeovers and hoped one day I would get to do that with my daughter.
Three years later, that day arrived and I took my daughter to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. She choose to be Aurora, which I was surprised by because she has never really been into Sleeping Beauty. I guess she just liked the dress. While she was sitting there getting her hair done, her fairy godmother asked her what she was getting this makeover for and she said, “for mommy”. This made me giggle because it’s true. My daughter would have rather been on rides or meeting characters.
After the makeover, you could get your child’s picture taken. The photographer kept posing her into awkward “toddlers in tiaras” inspired positions. She’s only 2 and couldn’t really do them. I told the photographer just to let me daughter do what she wanted. She let her pose on her own but then kept asking her to smile so she could see her teeth. My daughter said “ok and then did this…
The photographer was not amused but The Husband and I couldn’t stop laughing. This is the only picture of our daughter we ordered because it is so… her.
