Here’s Princess A and I in Kansas with my step-mom. She’s from England. As a child I didn’t really copy many of her British habits… I just don’t like tea for some reason. BUT I did adopt one thing when I became a mom…
When referring to my daughter’s backside I say bum. I don’t know how or when this happened but I just like using bum as opposed to butt, bottom, or behind.
Princess A is also a wiggle worm and for some reason I feel more authoritarian when I say, “Sit on your bum.” I feel like Mary Poppins.
That’s the fun part of step moms and dads. They come into your life when you are a bit older and bring new things to the table. If you have step-parents did you pick up things from them? If so what?

that’s to cute…
our favorite things to say to Ian is “butt on the bottom”, b/c he’s always wanting to stand in the bathtub and in shopping carts…
he listens, so that’s all that’s important thing…
A does that all the time. I hate that she wants to stand in the tub… that’s how I got stitches as a child.
Does cooking count? I always helped my step dad cook growing up, for that i still love to cook. Funny thing is i cook great steak and i don’t eat it
HAHA that’s funny that you don’t eat steak. yes cooking counts!
