BIPARTISAN SIBLING LOVE

I love my brother!

I love you Uncle Scott but I am tired!

It’s no secret that I am a very outspoken liberal. What you may not know is the majority of my family members are outspoken Republicans.

Especially my brother. He is an avid hunter, Republican, and pro-life. He wears camouflage and I wear leopard print. We couldn’t be more different. I went hunting with him once on a brother/sister bonding trip and let’s just say the ducks got a break that day.

I used to not talk about my political beliefs because I was afraid my family members wouldn’t love me anymore. Well, I couldn’t be more wrong. Now everyone in my family knows who I voted for and they couldn’t care less because they love me. The only difference is now we have more things to tease each other about.

This is why I love family. You can disagree with your relatives about everything except for the fact that you love each other. I feel so supported knowing that I have a family who loves me even though they think I am bat shit crazy. Many aren’t this lucky, and no longer speak to their families because of their beliefs. I am so glad this isn’t the case for me because if there is ever a food shortage I know I can always count on my brother to go kill a deer for me!

Stay Glamorous,

  1. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww glad that you got that figured out. Take care sweetie, family is always there for you. And sometimes friends become family as well. Just remember to keep them close, makes the world go better.

As you said Shannon, I have had the same fear concerning my religious beliefs who are totally different of those of my family (who are majority Christian or Atheist.), I was afraid to be rejects by them, afraid that they won’t love me anymore.. It wasn’t not easy at the beginning, but with the time the things have been improved. (even if it’s still hard with some people..) Fortunately, I’ve been lucky to have some understanding people in my family and in my circle of friends who understood my reasons!
Right now, we have more holidays to celebrate! lol!! :)
I’m very happy that everything goes well for you with your family.
Differences about these kind of things may be very enriching when all goes well.

  3. That’s awesome!
yes, too many families let silly things like beliefs get in their way…
we wouldn’t be a free country, if we didn’t have choices, right?
and I didn’t vote for Obama, but not everything he does is horrible, that’s a politician…
I like his wife, Michelle, she’s all for kids and healthy, so I’m on that boat.
my son who’s almost 13, he loves politics and he preferred Obama, so I grounded him…. (lmao, not really)… but we can joke about it, it is really no different than sports… and sometimes those arguments are uglier… LOL
