Her last 4 teeth are being difficult and taking FOREVER to come in. She was in pain all day. The worst part is they are in the middle of her gums and hard to get to with a teething toy. Princess A uses her fingers to get to them. They work but then her fingers hurt.
Now Princess A has loved Tapirs for awhile but she has really bonded with the above Tapir this week. I bought her a Tapir for her on Amazon a while back because I thought it was cute that she loved such a random animal. She kissed the Tapir when I gave it to her. My cousin babysits for us and last week I came home and she was feeding pees to her Tapir. Well, this week she has been using her toy Tapir’s snout to teeth on. The hook shape of the snout enables it to get to her new teeth and the snout is the perfect size. It fits perfectly between the teeth she already has.
Princess A has been napping with her tapir and yesterday we took the tapir to the petting zoo. Whatever works! Princess A usually falls asleep very easily but last night she wouldn’t stop crying. I gave her baby advil but she still couldn’t fall asleep. I went in again and asked her if she wanted water. Nope. I asked her if she was cold. Nope. I asked her if she was hungry and she screamed “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!” I love that I can communicate with my daughter now. It makes things much easier! Princess A had been feeling cruddy the whole day and hadn’t eaten much. This usually happens when she gets new teeth but I guess after the baby Advil kicked in her gums felt better but she was hungry.
I took her out of her crib and she brought the Tapir with her. I said do you want yogurt and she screamed, “yeah, yeah, YEAH!” I was so proud of myself for guessing right the first time! She ate 2 1/2 cups of yogurt. Every once and a while she would give some yogurt to her Tapir or Freckles. Then half way through her third cup of yogurt she handed Freckles the yogurt cup said “Bye” and then she said, “Night, Night”. I did as she said and took her to her crib and she went right to sleep!!!
I hate it when my daughter doesn’t feel well but yesterday I was amazed by how well she was able to communicate her needs to me. It made me very proud and the fact that she had a crummy day a little better.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tapirs for being awesome and announce that we have named Princess A’s Tapir Gwendolyn.
Also, I would like to say to my daughter’s incoming teeth get the hell out of Princess A’s gums and STOP CAUSING HER PAIN!
