My two puppies

I have heard specialist talk about how important pretend play is for a child’s development. While I won’t argue that point I love watching Princess A pretend because it is hilarious.

She enjoys putting my purse on her shoulder, dragging her toy dog on a leash, and screaming “Bye. Bye” before trying to leave our apartment. She also loves to pretend talk on my phone.

Princess A’s new game is to put her toy animals to bed. She puts them on the ground, covers them with a blanket, kisses them, and then says “Night, Night”. Sometimes she puts her animals into her high chair and feeds them but mostly she just holds them like a baby and kisses them.

My favorite pretend game of all is when she pretends to be a dog. Princess A has copied Freckles’ behavior for awhile but now that she is older her mimicking is getting more detailed. She goes into his cage and pretends to sleep. Then she crawls out pants with her tongue out and barks at random sounds. Princess A really wants to drink out of Freckles water bowl but I won’t let her because you have to have some limits!

I can’t wait to see what Princess A will pretend to be next. What did your kids like to be?

Stay Glamorous,

My kids loved to be animals too. And me and my daughter when she was 4 daddy was going to Iraq, so she would always wear his boots, hats and gloves. Military family, tis hard but worth it in the long run. She also LOVED daddy’s beret.
