british accent mom blog One of the best parts of going to Kansas was introducing Princess A to my family. Above is a picture of my step-grandmother Phoebe. She is from England and Princess A met her for the first time last week. Princess A adored her and had so much fun playing with her and listening to her talk. I don’t know what it is about accents but whenever Princess A hears a new one for the first time she gets so excited.

What are your kids favorite languages and accents?

*squealing* I love, love, love accents! OK, I lied…I ADORE accents!
If I had to pick a favorite one, it would be the Texan accent and heck, the whole Southern deal. Second favorites, Scottish and Irish. For some reason, it is easier for me to understand Scottish and Irish accents than Londoners talk 🙂
There’s somethin’ ’bout folks talkin’ pretty 😀
Myself, I have an accent that people are mostly unable to place. I’m completely self-taught on the subject of English, so naturally, at first I had very strong Slav accent. Then it got mixed up when I started working with people from different parts of the world and people mostly are placing my accent now somewhere between Spanish and French, although I claim that it sounds more like Middle Eastern-Mediterranean-Italian-Slav-Canadian.

I love Scottish and Irish but I am never able to understand it lol. I can understand London accents pretty well though.
