FLYING HOME

FLYING BABY virgin america

Finally I got what I want!

So as you all know Princess A is notoriously a bad flyer. I have tried everyone’s advice and while I thank you for the help none of it worked. On the way home from LA, I was trying to get her to eat to help with the ear popping issue but Princess A grabbed the container of fruit puffs during take off. She shook the container and spilled it all over herself, started to finally eat, and got the biggest smile on her face. So this is what finally worked for me. Letting my daughter spill tons of food all over herself and eat it. Weird I know but the other passengers on the flight were very thankful as she was crying during boarding.

Sleepy Time

After she had a snack Princess A slept for 3 hours!!! It was so awesome… I even got to watch a movie and enjoy the tasty food and drinks Virgin America has to offer. So thanks to everyone who gave me advice and for all the other mothers who have been asking me what I did to survive the flight home because they are afraid to fly with their babies. I don’t really have any advice for you because I discovered this by accident. I guess I would just say keep trying until something soothes your baby. I am so happy though because Princess A also usually cries in car rides and she slept for most of our trip to the beach. Hopefully this will work next month because we are flying again to go to a friend’s wedding. Now I can concentrate on finding a cute dress!

I’m so happy you found something that worked! Now if you can just get her to remember that eating the fruit puffs allows her to feel better. Hopefully next month’s plane ride won’t be as long as the past couple have been and it will be easier.
