BADASS PIGEONS

New York Pigeons

Here is a picture of some pigeons taking a bath at the playground. New York pigeons have seen it all and aren’t afraid of anything!

When Freckles was very young and about 5 pounds I took him to Central Park for the first time. Most New York pigeons are about 5 pounds as well from being fed by children. There was a pigeon in front of us and I assumed the pigeon would see Freckles and fly away since he’s a DOG. The pigeon wasn’t phased and just stood there staring at us. Before I knew what was going on Freckles pounced on the pigeon and started shaking it in his mouth. I told him to drop it but by then the pigeon had already passed away. So when I saw these pigeons at the playground I made sure to stay far away with Freckles and have Princess A stare at them from afar.

What crazy things have your dogs and cats eaten?

Uhmm..Charlie ate a cat yesterday. I feel bad about that, but yeah, he did it and there was no stopping him.

I agree! we’re now trying to keep him away from them, but they are strays and it’s not easy.

Kalie didn’t eat or kill anything, but last October she tried to play with what I assume she thought was a black and white kitty. It was a skunk! The thought of the smell still makes me gag. She got sprayed in the face. She even ended up with an eye ulcer from the spray getting in her eyes. You think a skunk smells bad when you drive past one that has been hit. The smell close up and fresh is indescribable. It doesn’t even smell like what you would think, it is a 1000 times worse.
So the rule in our house is no playing with “black and white kitties!”

Goodness! That sounds horrible for all involved! I can’t believe a dog can get an eye ulcer from that 🙁
