HATS HATS HATS

Look at my new hat!

Princess A likes all hats but her own. She is always trying to wear The Husband Aaron’s hats. One of her first words was actually hat.

Gotcha

Sometimes she pretends she wants to be held and then steals Daddy’s hat. It’s really funny unless you are Aaron.

Mommy's Hat!

Sometimes she even steals my hats. So since Princess A is stealing all these hats you would think she would be thrilled to wear her own hats. But no she refuses to wear her hat but demands everyone else’s hats. In the winter she didn’t wear a hat but it wasn’t that cold in NY this year so it didn’t really matter.

Now that summer is almost here and we are planning beach trips I really really really want her to wear a hat. She’s a ginger with fair skin for goodness sakes! Any one know how to speak baby and available to explain to my daughter the importance of hats in the summer? Or any fellow mom’s have tips on getting their children to wear hats?

We just did massive amounts of sunscreen in the hair, reapplied almost constantly. Not a one of my kids would keep a hat on once they learned how to take it off. When my daughter was about 8 months we were able to use one of the ones that fastened under her chin and made it difficult for her to remove, but that didn’t last long.

We weren’t into hats until about 18 months. Now if she sees one she must have it… but sunglasses are still more popular than hats, and bows more popular than sunglasses. Of course Lily is super girly compared to my tom-boy ways. I try to have pajama days and by 11 she’s telling me she needs to get dressed and she picks her own clothes.

She sounds very grown up! Amelia loves sunglasses and bows and hats are tied for last place. Although she doesn’t always realize she is wearing a bow!
